BioBrick is a controlled release technology of specific bacteria for use in wastewater treatment systems to address problems associated with organic compounds such as FOG and excess BOD/COD.
BioBrick is slow dissolving for use in higher sewage flow systems, such as pumping stations, collection wells, grease traps, etc.
When BioBrick is exposed to water flow, the bacteria in BioBrick are conditioned with a unique flow property that enables the unique bacteria to be active when they are released and thus there is no delay such as a long-term acclimatization phase. It enables the Bacillus microbes to immediately begin reinforcing the biobed/biofilm through their metabolic properties to break down biological substances such as FOG, proteins, DNA, plant material and various other polymeric substances.
The use of multiple Bacillus strains growing synergistically under both high-flow industrial effluents and lower-flow municipal wastewaters. It provides a consortium of bacteria that are not only metabolically diverse, but can handle a wide range of low and high temperatures as well as a wide pH range. Gives a good result for both large and small sewage treatment plants.
