Bioblock is a slow-dissolving, bacterial-laden solid for use in breaking down organic waste in higher flow systems with BOD - COD problems, such as in pumping stations, sumps, grease traps, etc.
The safe, application-specific bacteria in Bioblock are present in high numbers to handle difficult organic problems. The unique block will gradually dissolve allowing for continuous processing and degradation of waste. The naturally occurring bacteria in the block will reduce odors, sludge, fats, oils and grease build-up.
The large amount of Bacillus bacteria released from Bioblock inhibits and reduces the appearance of unwanted bacteria such as Salmonella, Listeria and Staphylococcus.
When Bioblock is exposed to water flow, the bacteria are conditioned with a unique flow characteristic that enables the unique bacteria to be active when they are released and thus there is no delay such as a long-term acclimatization phase. It enables the Bacillus microbes to immediately begin reinforcing the biobed/biofilm through their metabolic properties to break down biological substances such as FOG, proteins, DNA, plant material and various other polymeric substances.
Bioblock has a unique property. Instead of using flocculants, the unique Bacillus strain used in the product has been chosen for their unique ability to form flocculants on their own. These flocculants, which typically have a Sludge Volume Index (SVI) of <100, are well suited to WWTP sludge systems and offer compact structures with excellent settling properties.
Advantages of Bioblock:
- Optimized bacterial consortia that degrade a wider range of substrates
- Effectively breaks down oils and grease and thus eliminates foul-smelling odors at the source
- Breaks down high concentration of waste and improves BOD / COD / TSS removal
- Reduces sludge build-up which helps eliminate malodorous odors such as hydrogen sulphide
- Eco-benign® formulation; contains no harsh chemicals
- Easy to install - no special equipment or labor required - highly cost effective
- Not dependent on personnel or equipment for dosing – no protective equipment required
- Performance advantages over manually dosed systems
- Continuous operation 24 hours a day, increases system efficiency
- No negative impact on the treatment plant's biobed
- All stems are EEG class 1
- The product contains Bacillus bacteria in 100% spore form for longer life
- Manufactured in accordance with recognized international quality standards ISO 9001 and ISO 14001
- Bioblock can be used in fresh, brackish and salt water. (0 – 50 gr salt/litre.)
Bioblock is not suitable to be used for wastewater that is rich in phenols and hydrocarbons. Examples of industries that do not fit the product are; wine and olive producers and heavy industry. For that kind of problem, contact us and we will help you with the right product.
